Hebrew School

Know someone who would love our new Hebrew School? Our Wednesday afternoon program features a new Hebrew program that focuses on tefilah and connects nicely to the services we will be holding during Shabbat Shelanu. We are also spending time learning about Jewish holidays, Israel, God and stories from the Torah.

Hebrew High

All our post-B’nai mitzvah teens (8th through 12th grade) are invited to participate in an interesting and engaging learning opportunity on select Sunday mornings from 10:30 am - 12:00 pm (please refer to the Beth David Calendar for dates). We’ll have brunch and conversations surrounding the idea of philanthropy. As a program of the Jewish Teen Funders Network, our teens will gain a better understanding of tzedekah, grant proposals and the decision making process. Our project will give real money to organizations in Greensboro that are helping to make our community stronger. Rabbi Ben-Gideon and Jason are looking forward to learning with all of our teens.

Confirmation encourages students to develop a meaningful relationship with their “personal Judaism” while they are seniors in high school, just before they go off to college. In this ceremony, each student "confirms" a commitment to Judaism and to Jewish life. Confirmation is something our young people do at the end of their high school experience, at a greater level of maturity along with other Jewish teens, in a group experience. Confirmation teaches us that we are inextricably intertwined with other Jews and will always remain a part of our people. Confirmation students meet with Rabbi Ben-Gideon on select Sunday mornings from 10:30 am - 12:00 pm during the 2019-2020 school year (please refer to the Beth David Calendar for dates).

We are looking to engage several of our teens to be leaders and mentors in our new Shabbat School, Shabbat Shelanu (our Shabbat) and at Wednesday afternoon Hebrew School. There will be great opportunities for our teens to develop leadership skills and teaching skills in this learning opportunities. If you are interested in helping out, either on a regular basis or once in a while, contact Jason.

We are excited to continue revitalizing our Greensboro USY group. United Synagogue Youth provides our teens with opportunities to explore social action, develop leadership skills and strengthen Jewish identity in a network of USYers participating in 16 regions across North America.
