Greensboro
Greensboro
Greensboro is a dynamic southern city with a surprisingly active and historically significant Jewish population. With a city population of 280,000, Greensboro is the largest community in the Triad region that boasts a population of 1.6 million people. The Greensboro Jewish community of about 3,000 has had a long presence in the area and has contributed significantly to both the historical foundation and the current business and cultural growth of downtown Greensboro.
After arriving in Greensboro by way of the Piedmont Triad International Airport (which is located a convenient 15 minutes from town), one of the first things a visitor often notices is that Greensboro is . . . green! The city has a beautiful park system with many neighborhood and community parks and a city-circling greenway that is under construction. Our downtown area is undergoing an active renaissance with new residential and commercial development surrounding our downtown minor league baseball stadium. Also under construction are the Tanger Center for Performing Arts and the adjacent LeBauer Park, both made possible with lead gifts from local Jewish families.
