2022-23 update

In 2023, we are working to rebuild our community after two years of isolation. Last year, Cheryl Greenberg and Cheryl Kersky created a new steering committee that planned a fabulous slate of activities for Sisterhood. Their hard work paid off and recently we organized a Rosh Chodesh kickoff event, a Spritzers & S’mores social, and a tour of Jewish Charlotte.

We set a schedule for the upcoming year with a variety of programming. Anne Waranch has organized the Wired! Coffee truck to come to B’nai Shalom and share free coffee with Sisterhood members and the B’nai community. Emily Gray and Alyssa Samet are organizing a social at Nailed It! where we can do DIY crafts, and we have a Women’s Shabbat, a Chocolate Seder, and a StoryCorps event lined up for the Spring.

Sylvia Berkelhammer leads our Chesed committee which provides comfort to bereaved families, and Eva Turner and Ruth Hoffman have restarted the Rosh Chodesh series. Our gift shop is once again open for business and Sara Jacobs and Janet Hammond are reorganizing it.

We need your help to keep these efforts going. Please join as a member or renew your membership. Let us know what activities interest you and if you can volunteer. We want to hear from you! To reach us, contact Arlene Henza at (336) 209-6016/avhenza@gmail.com or Anne Parsons (217) 255-2399/aparso2@gmail.comWe look forward to seeing you this year.
