Beth David Religious School
The school's mission is to provide our students with an encouraging environment, offering a curriculum that stresses Hebrew prayer skills, enabling them to be comfortable with the Conservative prayer book and synagogue services.
We offer an individualized Hebrew language curriculum designed to teach the fundamentals of reading, and a basic knowledge of the practices, beliefs, ethics, and history of Judaism.

M.I.T. - Madrichim in Training

About the Program
What will your students do and learn?
Eighth graders participating in this program will take part in a series of workshops designed to prepare them to become Madrichim (counselors and facilitators).
The M.I.T. program includes workshops and an apprenticeship. The Madrichim seminar is a hands-on course preparing the students to be Jewish role models. This workshop includes the following topics:
- Defining the role of a Madrich
- Leadership skills
- Madrichim responsibilities
- Working with small groups and individuals
- How different students learn
- Working with students with disabilities
Students will also work "in the field," preparing activities for our Religious School, work with current Madrichim and teachers.

Boaz Avraham-Katz, Director of Youth Education
Boaz Avraham-Katz has more than 20 years of experience in the field of Jewish education. He holds a teaching degree from Oranim Teachers College in Israel where he is from.
He has taught in schools in Israel and South Africa, and is also a Jewish Studies teacher at B'nai Shalom Day School. He is married to Helene and has three daughters; Netta, Eden and Yahav.
