What is Keruv?

Keruv (the Hebrew word means literally “bring closer”) is an outreach movement designed to bring congregants and prospective congregants with non-Jewish spouses or relatives into closer community with the congregation. Conservative Judaism believes that making a non-Jewish person comfortable in a Jewish environment and welcoming him/her to Jewish experiences are initial steps.
