Beth David Synagogue Religious School

Religious School Mission

The school's mission is to provide our students with an encouraging environment, offering a curriculum that stresses Hebrew prayer skills, enabling them to be comfortable with the Conservative prayerbook and synagogue services, and a Hebrew language curriculum designed to teach the fundamentals of reading, and a basic knowledge of the practices, beliefs, ethics, and history of Judaism.

This is a month of milestones - some on-going, some just starting and some a culmination of effort.  We begin a community-wide celebration of the beginning of Israel‘s reaching 6o years of independence and will continue throughout the year, exploring, learning and becoming involved in the continued existence of the State.
In addition to the community events, our Religious School will be taking a “tour” of Israel on Sunday morning May 4th.  The following Shabbat BDRS will be participating in services and in the process presenting some of what they have learned this past year.

This is the time to thank and honor our teachers for all that they have done for our children.  A TODA RABBA to: Helene Avraham-Katz, Rita Baron, Rachel Goodfriend, Susan Kusnitz, Suzanne Goodfriend and Jill Perchesky.

A special thank you is in order for our Madrichim (teen aides) who have done an outstanding job with their invaluable help this year.   TODA to: Darren Lipman, Hallie Chandler, Marley Silverman, Maddie Kaufman, Craig Schneid and Dara Rosenkrantz.

Parents are invited to our end of year step-up assembly on May 18th.  Join us for Morning T’fillah, presentation of awards, crafts and a light family brunch.
